Don't Smoke!

Seriously, don't smoke: it's bad for you. And gross.

This is just a test

Eat your heart out janice...

...there's a daffodil.

So I've been kinda busy, but not really. I've been working on publishing a photobook of the jazz pictures. So if you're interested in buying one let me know. I'll see what I can do to hook you up. So I've been doin' a lot of tweeking and designing, etc. Plus I haven't been taking the time to bring my camera with me where ever I go. Until today. Which is why you get all these pictures. This is all on USC campus. Some of them I couldn't decide on the color or b/w version (they might be up later).

More from Jazz

So these are a couple final images for my jazz project. For those interested I will be placing 30 images in a book (cover and everything). Ten of those images will be displayed at a Legends of Jazz Concert here in Columbia, and two of those images will be printed for a thing at USC. It's quite a large project, actually. At this point I am most concerned about how to construct my book as some of the images might not look that great with each other. I'd also like to get in some quotes about jazz. Any suggestions?

Photos for Breakfast

My Wednesday tradition after two long days, is to take some photographs. Talk about tension release. I think the one on the left is a tad underexposed.

It glows

[this is the results of the first editing class in Adv. BW]

I'm thinking, really, I am.

[These are more portraits. I'm about to start working on them in my black and white class. I wish I could get rid of the stupid electrical outlet...]

Two for One Day

[naked tree in the blue]

[sunny side of life]

Felt like goin' outside in the backyard when I got home from work. This is what I got. Loving the new computer and software. It has several nice presets (shh!) which makes workflow a lot easier.

A little clarification...

Since we are just kicking this whole photo blogging thing off I thought I'd through in some ideas. The How to comment guidelines are just that. Guidelines. (Isn't there a quote from Pirates of the Caribbean about guidelines?) Photographs after all are meant to be enjoyed not analyzed. Feel free to comment however you wish. The guidelines are a nudge to encourage more commenting since I know lots of people are always like:

It's nice and I like it, but I don't know what else to say

Second, the current jazz photographs are not meant to be deciphered or seen clearly. They are all of instruments, but that doesn't really matter. The focus and inspiration are on abstract shapes, lines, and forms that jazz music creates in the imagination. For a graphic artists take on Jazz check out Matisse.

It's almost identical - I know...
